Click a City, Find Its Faction.
Interactive cartography that knows about the rest of your world. Draw regions, drop pins, trace routes, set typography. Every mark on the map links back to its Legendry entry, so clicking the capital shows you who runs it, what language they speak, and what chapter they first turned up in.
Architectural Subsystems
The map workbench itself. Swap source art without losing placement, nest maps into an atlas, and keep scale, counts, and hierarchy visible while you work.
- Format Limits
- Accepts PNG, JPG, WebP, and SVG files up to 0MB per canvas. Built to handle heavy cartography files natively.
- Nondestructive Image Swapping
- Received updated art from your cartographer? Swap the underlying map image at any time. All coordinates, pins, polygons, and visibility layers mathematically anchor to the new image without requiring manual realignment.
- Drill-Down Parent Hierarchy
- Link maps into recursive, nested chains (Continent → Province → City → Inn Interior). Drop a specialized map-link Pin as a portal to seamlessly drill down into child maps.
- Fail-Safes & Navigation Stack
- Visual breadcrumb trails allow rapid backward navigation through complex nested map stacks. Accidental map deletions trigger a strict 6-second soft-undo intercept. Live sidebar metrics display real-time counts for all plotted objects.
Four Object Primitives
Four annotation systems, each built for a different job: place names, mark locations, trace routes, and block out regions without leaving the same canvas.
Pins, borders, routes, and labels live together on the map itself, so the text is describing visible objects instead of abstract tools.
Pins (Points of Interest)
Fully repositionable waypoints. Integrates directly with the Phosphor icon library. Includes three dynamic sizes (Small/Med/Large), custom hex coloring, private GM notes, and rich-hover tooltips that display linked lore entry data.
Polygon Regions
Advanced territory drafting using unlimited-vertex polygons. Granular sliders provide independent control over fill opacity, stroke width, and exact color mapping. Instantly link nations or biomes to their lore.
Polyline Paths
Trace trade routes, borders, and army migrations. Supports five stroke styles (Solid, Dashed, Dotted, Dash-Dot, Wavy). Optional midpoint arrows make movement direction readable at a glance.
Typography Labels
Drop geographic naming conventions natively onto the canvas. Customize font size, explicit hex colors, 360-degree rotation angles, italicization curves, and exact letter-spacing tracking for oceans or mountain ranges.
Math, Scale & Filters
Give the map a real distance scale, decide what only appears at certain zoom levels, and keep a dense world readable instead of overloaded.
- True Scale Calibration
- Drop two points on any canvas and define the known distance exactly (miles, km, leagues, or days-travel). That gives the map a real scale you can actually work against.
- Measurement Mode Analyzer
- Activate Measure Mode (Press M) and calculate explicit path lengths between any two geometry points natively, based entirely on your established calibration metrics.
- Granular Zoom Visibility Thresholds
- Every plotted object supports strict min/max appearance thresholds. Ensure a world-view map doesn't render thousands of minor village pins until the user explicitly zooms in tight.
- Dynamic Legend Control
- Build custom, color-coded categories (e.g., "Capitals", "Ruins", "Bandit Camps"). Assign map objects in bulk, and toggle layer visibility to instantly strip category clutter from the canvas.
Calibration and measure mode are visible in the working toolbar, alongside zoom, selection, and view controls.
Keyboard-First Controls
You can put the mouse down. Move through dense cartography with real keyboard bindings and engine-level zoom, the way serious map work actually gets done.
The map smooth-scroll zoom engine spans from -3 to +5 level gradients natively, at precise 0.25 incremental steps.
