Refund Policy
Try before you buy
The easiest way to know if Ishvana is right for you is to use it. We offer a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Start writing, import your existing world, try every agent, run a few compile jobs. If you love it, buy a license. If you don't, the trial ends and no money changes hands.
Start your 14-day free trial — no credit card required, full access to every feature, one trial per email.
The refund promise
If you skip the trial and buy outright (or finish the trial and purchase, then change your mind), you have 14 days from the date of purchase to request a full refund. No questions asked, no forms to fill out, no lost-cause customer retention gauntlet to run through.
The refund window exists because Ishvana is a $99 commitment and you shouldn't have to gamble on whether it fits your workflow. If you buy it, try it for two weeks, and decide it's not for you, you get your money back. That's the deal.
How to request a refund
Email support@ishvana.com from the email address you used to purchase (or include your license key if it's different). Say "refund request" in the subject line. That's all we need.
We respond within one business day and process the refund the same day if we can. You don't need to give a reason, but we always appreciate a short note on what didn't work for you — it helps us improve the product. Honest feedback makes the next version better.
Processing time
Refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe. From your bank's perspective, the money typically lands back in your account within 5 to 7 business days, sometimes faster. Stripe handles the clearing; we don't control the exact timing after we initiate the refund.
You'll receive an email confirmation from Stripe when the refund is issued and another when it completes.
What happens to your license
Your license is marked suspended the moment we process the refund. Within about a week, the desktop app's periodic license re-check picks up the suspension and shifts into a read-only mode: you can still open and read your projects, but you can't save new changes or export to .docx / PDF / ePub.
Your data on your machine is untouched. Your SQLite lore database, .docx manuscripts, and every other file Ishvana created for you stays exactly where it is. If you change your mind later and buy another license, you can pick up exactly where you left off.
Edge cases
Bought for a teammate or gift
Refunds go back to the original payment method, regardless of who's actually using the license. If you bought a license for someone else and either of you wants a refund within 14 days, email us.
Lost your license key
Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the original purchase email from us. If you can't find it, email support from the same email you purchased with and we'll look up your license.
14 days passed by a few days
The 14-day window is firm for policy consistency, but we're not robots. If you're a few days past and you have a reasonable story, email us and we'll work with you. If you're 60 days past and you've been using the software actively, we're probably going to say no.
Trial abuse or chargebacks
If someone takes the trial, purchases, uses the product intensively, and then requests a refund as an end-run around paying — we reserve the right to refuse or reverse the refund. In practice, this almost never happens. Authors are overwhelmingly good-faith buyers and we'd rather extend trust than defend against a rare bad actor.
Chargebacks (disputing the purchase through your bank without contacting us first) are treated as abuse unless there's a legitimate fraud concern. If you're unhappy, email us first. We will refund.
Why we offer this
Because writing software is personal, long-term, and expensive to get wrong. We'd rather have a customer who's confident they made the right call than one who's stuck with a tool they don't love. A refund policy is just a written promise that we trust our customers to decide what's right for them.
